New Delhi: The rain watchers in India are comparing 113 years of weather chart since there was not much rain during the previous month of June. So, the people of the country are living with an expectation of normal rain in July. During the month of June there was a shortage of 43% in the expected monsoon rainfall and thus remarked the 2014 June as the third-driest June over the past century.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the monsoon could advance over the northwest India within four days amid concerns that areas already witnessing the monsoon have been facing a severe rain deficit.
Over 90 percent of the country’s landmass has received only minimum rainfall during June. Now the deficit is 26 percent below normal in the east and the Northeast, 55 percent below normal in the northwest, 61 percent below normal in central India, and 37 percent below normal in the southern peninsula.
But According to the director of the long-range weather forecasting division at the IMD in Pune, there would be a revitalized rainfall in July.
Weather observations over the past century have suggested that the dramatically poor rainfall in June is providing an expectation of average or above average rainfall in July. Rainfall during the month of July is considered as very important regarding the crops across the country.
