About 50 people injured in Bull taming sport


In a bull taming sport event near Madurai in Tamil Nadu about 50 persons were said to have injured. Among the injured there were bull tamers as well as viewers. This adventurous sport event was organized in association with ‘Pongal’ festival in the state.

As per the reports seven of them are in serious condition. About 552 bulls from nearby locations were brought for the traditional event. About 90 persons were injured on the previous day in a similar sporting event. The authorities have categorically stated that the bulls were not subjected for any type of harassment during the event. Prior to the event the bulls were medically examined and made sure that they have not administered any type of intoxicants. They also pointed out that the bull tamers were also not in a drunken state
