Birmingham: A mystery Mercedes left abandoned in a car park for last three years has been asked to get removed after racking up £14,000 towards parking charges.
This may be the first time that a car has been charged such a huge amount as parking charges.
According to sources, an absent-minded motorist might have forgotten about the black Mercedes C Class, which has been kept inside a multi-story car park in Birmingham since 2011.
Police searching for the owner said that the car was not either stolen or involved in any known crime. They have not even received any complaints regarding the missing of the vehicle.
The company who own the car park, APCOA, said that they had been trying to contact the owner of the unlocked vehicle.
Now, APCOA has written to Birmingham City Council in a bid to get the car removed.
If the owner is found out, the company has the right to claim £14,000 towards parking charges.
