Abu Dhabi brings Safety regulations on toys

Dubai: Children’s toys purchasing from Abu Dhabi will be child-proof hereafter.
The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) has announced the launch of its new regulation on toys. As per this, the toys meant for children up to the age of 14 are to be fulfilled the UAE safety standard requirements.
Toys that are manufactured as per the safety requirements will be awarded the Abu Dhabi Trust mark. Thus, this new regulation enables parents to choose the right toys for their children.
According to QCC officials, the Children’s Toys Conformity Scheme was put forth by following the international guidelines and norms. Toy suppliers are instructed to strictly follow the mandatory safety requirements for receiving the Trust mark certification to their products. This will ensure validity of their products over the health and safety regulations in the markets of Abu Dhabi.
The move came after complaints on fake and sub-standard toys in the market which make innocent children in danger.
