AIDS bill to be passed by Rajya Sabha


New Delhi: Central Health minister Gulam Nabi Azad has presented the AIDS prevention and control bill in the Rajya Sabha.

The main intention of the bill is to ensure treatments and protection to people suffering from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

As per this bill, any expression of hatred or denial over AIDS patients will get a punishment up-to two years imprisonment together-with a penalty of Rs. One Lakh.

Regarding denial, any negative behavior including rejection will be eligible to get punishment.

The is applicable when the respective AIDS patients are alive and even after their death.
