Cairo: People of Egypt are in clear anger following the beheading of twenty one Egyptian Christians by the Islamic State militants.
The IS militants have recently released a video showing the massacre of 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned that his country would respond to the death of its innocent people.
Speaking on national television hours after the release of the video, Sisi said that Cairo would choose the necessary inevitable steps and to avenge the criminal killings.
Egypt’s state news agency MENA has confirmed that 21 Egyptian Christians believed to have held by Islamic State were killed.
The beheading could tighten Sisi’s resolution in dealing with the existing security threats created by the militancy booming in the neighboring Libya.
Earlier, Egypt had denied reports that it had taken part in air strikes against IS militants based in Libya, in association with its close friend, the United Arab Emirates.
The footage showing the massacre of the Egyptians was appeared on the Twitter feed of a website that supports Islamic State.
The IS militants who have seized parts of Iraq and Syria were earlier beheaded Western hostages too.
In the video, militants in black, were bringing the captives, dressed up in orange jump suits, to a beach near Tripoli. Then they were forced down onto their knees and beheaded.
The families of the kidnapped workers had urged Cairo to help secure their release.
They are said to have screamed and fainted upon hearing death news of their beloveds.
