New Delhi: Lt. Gen. K. S. Brar (R.t.d) revealed that India had not got any assistance from the British authorities during the planning of the Blue Star Operation. He said that the whole operations were designed by Indian military commanders. He was reacting to the claim that the British special Air services officials were involved during the planning of the blue star operation conducted to expel militants from the golden temple complex in 1984. He referred the claim as rubbish and baseless. According to Brar there may be some mysterious motives behind the aforesaid claim.

Lt. Gen. Brar is one of the key military officials who led the Blue Star operation at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. After retirement he had survived a murder attempt by a radical Sikh group at London in 2012.
