Sydney: Recently there was an anonymous report saying that the three-storey, seven-tonne mango statue in northern Australia had been stolen. This was an elaborate publicity technique by a fast-food chain called Nando.
The Big Mango is a towering fiberglass resemblance of the fruit which is abundantly found in the hometown of Bowen. International headlines as well as a Facebook page were set up for this exceptional news.
But according to a chicken restaurant chain, this headline was only to collect the attraction of tourists.
The disappearance news of Bowen’s Big Mango had been generated quite a lot of attention over the world for some days. But now it is found that Nando was behind this interesting news headlines.
The Nando food chain later said that the reason for the caption would be revealed soon and the mango would be kept back in place.
The famous fruit, which unveiled in 2002 is an important tourist attraction of Australia.
