New Delhi: The Bharathia Janatha Party in India has decided to block their website access in Pakistan enabling the people of Pakistan not to access the BJP website from Pakistan. The party has blocked its Internet, fearing that their high-profile Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s portal may be defaced by the Pakistan people. The decision was in the midst of the convincing reports regarding the hacking of the veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani’s website by the Pakistan hackers. So people logging the same from Pakistan have to use Virtual Private Network, hiding Pakistani IP address to log in to the respective BJP website. On Twitter, the party has attached links to a ‘charge sheet’ which they had recently released against the UPA government, but the links would not work for those logging in from Pakistan. Some have questioned the logic of blocking the accessibility of the website saying that the hackers won’t use their own IP addresses in any case. Moreover, everyone is eagerly waiting to know about the general sentiments and trends as to who will form the next government. Video on website blocking
