London: British Prime Minister David Cameron has asked his Cabinet Secretary to find out the facts behind the saying that former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher might have helped Indira Gandhi during the arrangements for the Blue Star operations in 1984.
It is said that Britain’s Special Air Service (SAS) officials had been authorized to help India while planning the Golden Temple raid to flush out militants from the shrine. By this operation more than 1,000 people were dead. This news was from the recently declassified Official documents of the British Government. The referenced documents were released by the National Archives in London under the 30-years declassification program as part of a sequence over the New Year.
Labor MP Tom Watson and Lord Indarjit Singh had demanded an explanation over the disclosed details.
