Sharjah: Rent of buildings in Sharjah have been moving up in an unaffordable manner. Emigrants from India especially Malayalees are in great trouble due to the horrible hike in building rent. As per the report from real estate services the building rent in Sharjah has made an increase of 33 % by the end of 2013. But the residential areas in Sharjh such as Al-Majas, Al-Khasmia, Al-Nahda and Al-Vahda, the hike in the building rent by the end of 2013 was 38 %. The residents of these localities are emigrants mainly from Kerala.
In Cornish area at Sharjah, the rent of a two bed room flat is 70,000 Dharham. This locality is considered as the most attractive residential area in Sharjah. Generally, the building owners are charging rent without considering the rules and regulations of the Sharjah city corporation.
