Beijing: Chinese military aircraft has entered in to the air zone of Vietnam, aiming to develop protection for its giant oil rig stationed in Vietnamese waters.
Ngo Ngoc Thu, the vice commander of the High Command of Vietnam Marine Police said that two groups of Chinese military aircraft have flown over Vietnam’s marine police vessels at a height of 800 to 1,000 meters.
The fighter jets joined a Chinese fleet of military and civilian ships that have appeared in Vietnamese waters since early this month as a means to create protection to a zone of seven nautical mile circle from the oil rig.
