James Gunn had set up ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS’ before DC took over

Plot

It follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, a Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn himself then greenlit the project when he became CEO of DC Studios.

I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and TV have become too mainstream, that’s the key

They’ve had so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new one coming out, they don’t go to the theaters because they’re like, “Another superhero movie, babes, they’ve had too many” because they’re all the same, just generic action movies (especially the sequels), I think James Gunn is really turning things around and I can’t wait for that. I also think that because Marvel is so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by fans), and I think if everything at DC works out over the next few years, the lesser-known characters will be able to do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really feel special about them.
