Simferopol: Last day Crimean voters had conducted a referendum either to get separated from Ukraine or to join with Russia. This referendum was earlier criticized by United States, European countries and Ukrainian government as unlawful and destabilizing.
After the vote, there were fireworks and Russian flags all over above the jubilant crowds. The officials who conducted the elections said that more than half of the ballots were counted off.
Crimea is a primarily an ethnic-Russian majority region of Ukraine. Moscow said that it has the right to protect its people’s interests in Crimea.
