Baghdad: Iraq has urged the United Nations to investigate Islamic State terrorists’ bloody trade in human body organs. This was in connection with Iraqi ambassador’s explanation regarding the execution of doctors by the ISIS for not harvesting human body parts.
Mohamed Alhakim has claimed that dozens of bodies with surgical cut-marks and missing body parts had been found in shallow mass graves near ISIS stronghold Mosul over the past few weeks.
ISIS’ horrifying trade in human organs, which was brought out by MailOnline last December, is found to be the latest way for the terrorist organization to finance its activities. Other major income sources of the group is said to be the sale of oil, ransom payments, and smuggled antiques. It is said that the ISIS militants income per day being $2 million.
Speaking about ISIS’ organ harvesting operations, Mr Alhakim said that the human bodies they had examined were found to have lost key body parts.
He has also revealed that a number of doctors had been ‘executed’ in Mosul for not taking part in the organ harvesting event.
Mr Alhakim has briefly conveyed the UN Security Council about the overall prevailing situation in Iraq and accused ISIS of ‘crimes of genocide’ in targeting certain ethnic groups.
Meanwhile, the outgoing UN envoy to Iraq, Nikolay Mladenov, has told the council that during last month about 790 people were killed by terrorism and armed conflict in the country.
He has also pointed out the increasing number of reports and allegations that human organ harvesting has been taken by the ISIS as a financing method.
The shocking news on ISIS trade in human organs was first revealed in a report by al-Monitor news website in December.
The news has revealed that the ISIS commanders have hired foreign doctors to run an extensive organ trafficking system from a hospital in Mosul which has started generating huge profits.
The al-Monitor report also claimed that the terrorist organization has even set up a specialist organ-smuggling division whose sole responsibility is to sell human hearts, livers and kidneys on the moneymaking international black market field.
