New Delhi: In the forthcoming Parliament election, the election commission is expected to have an increase of 12 per cent in the number of voters while comparing to the 2009 polls.
The Election Commission in India is thankful to its unique initiative, the ‘Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation’ (SVEEP) and hopes the voting percentage to reach 70 per cent or above.
According to the election commission, the SVEEP has done a great job on massive scale to educate voters, especially the illiterate, poor and marginalized.
They have also covered women and youth in the vulnerable areas.
Despite the favorable condition prevailing in the country’s atmosphere, the Lok Sabha elections can create some unexpected results.
The unpredictable political situation in the country is because of the mammoth changes which have taken place in the recently-concluded assembly elections in the five states.
After all, neither opinion polls nor psephologists can safely foresee the voting share or the number of seats that each political parties can secure.
