Gascón is amazing as she embraces her new life while holding onto the best parts of her old life while struggling to accept some of her ex-partner’s revelations. As with some of his previous efforts, Jacques Audiard’s direction unfolds at a steady pace, taking the time to follow his characters’ lives wherever they go. They have an ultra-realistic element to them because of their lyrics and each one works in which the characters essentially sing their dialogue or it is a big dance number with Paul Guilholme’s meticulous cinematography. Stands out.
