Eurovision song contest is in favor of Austri


Copenhagen: Austrian drag queen Conchita Wurst, popularly known as the ‘bearded lady’ won this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The song which helped her to secure the title was a ballad called ‘Rise like a Phoenix’ which more or less resembles the theme of James Bond. The remarkable competition was viewing globally by180 million people residing in 45 countries.
Wurst appeared at the venue with sporting high heels, butterfly eyelashes and in usual full beard.
Wurst is the first Eurovision winner of Austria since 1966. She received the biggest cheers from the audience while created controversy in some countries.
The Eurovision competition, which has been held annually since 1956, was created to help foster unity after World War II and is considered to be a non-political event. But in this year’s contest, it is said that there were political involvements.
