New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) is on a set-out design an ambitious, youth-friendly project in view to enhance the sports facilities in each and every blocks that spread across 634 rural districts in the country.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 12,808 crores, spread over a period that covers the current 12th Plan and 13th Plan. The name of the project being ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan’.
If the CCEA approves the project, the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and are likely to launch the same later this month at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Since the countdown of the general election date starts next month, there are chances to announce as many people-friendly schemes as possible the UPA government.
