Las Vegas: Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton avoided an object throw by a woman toward her. She was addressing at the recycling industry trade conference, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incident was moments after Clinton came over the stage for delivering her remarks. Clinton ducked skillfully and managed not to hit by the object. She then joked about it.
The audience comprising of more than 1,000 people laughed and applauded as Clinton resumed her speech after the unfortunate incident.
US Secret Service supervisory special agent in Las Vegas, Brian Spellacy, said that the woman was being questioned and would face criminal charges. Spellacy declined to identify the woman, and said that at present it was not clear regarding the charges on her.
A black and orange shoe was recovered from the stage after the incident.
After her speech, Clinton answered questions posed by Jerry Simms, the outgoing chairman of the organization. Simms first apologized for that crude interruption occurred during the function.
