Chennai: HTC has rejected reports that the company has been considering the buying of the Nokia Chennai plant while its CFO Chia-Lin Chang’s comments were misinterpreted. An HTC spokesperson told First post that the HTC would like to clarify that the company has no intention of purchasing the Nokia plant inn Chennai. According to him from a business orientation, they generally review opportunities for strategical investments and continue such process in the future also.
Nokia authorities have said that they expect the EUR 5.44 billion deal with Microsoft for the sale of its Devices & Services and expressed the hope that it would continue the operation of the disputed Chennai plant under a service agreement.
Nokia has announced that it expects the transaction whereby the company will sell substantially all of its business related to Devices & Services to Microsoft to close on April 25, 2014. According to the statement from Nokia, the transaction is subjected to certain customary closing conditions.
