New York: A group of artists in New York have painted 40 nude models among the public to celebrate the human body art day.
The body painting session in Central Park was followed by a march along Broadway and a photo shoot in the city’s Times Square.
According to artist Andy Golub, New York was the only US city where the body painting is allowed.
During one of such event Andy Golub and a model were arrested in 2011 after a naked body art session in the city.
Public nudity as part of the performance is also permitted in New York.
As one of the organizers, Golub was granted a license to hold the event as per the agreement made with the police.
Organizers also offered members of the public a chance to have their bodies painted at the evening event to celebrate the day of nude body art.
