India demands to withdraw charges against the


New Delhi: India’s foreign affairs minister Salman Khurshid demanded US to withdraw all the offences charged against their diplomat Devayani Khobragade who was recently arrested by the US security personals. He said that he has sought more details from the Indian embassy regarding her arrest and the controversial search operation carried out by the by the US policemen thereafter.

Earlier, US foreign secretary John Kerry had expressed his dismay by calling India’s National Security Adviser Sivasankar Menon over phone.  But the parliamentary affairs minister Kamalnath said that mere phone calls from the US authorities in the name of formalities are not sufficient to delete the insult caused on our nation. He wanted the US to apologize openly regarding this issue. At the same time, US Attorney General has said that the dealings of the US policemen were very decent during her arrest and physical examinations.
