Israel investigates the mass killing in Gaza

Israel said that the country would investigate the shelling of a school that was housing displaced civilians in Gaza, and apologized if Israeli fire was responsible for that.
A government spokesman told the BBC that they have a policy and hence they won’t target civilians.
The US and UN had condemned the attack, which killed at least 16.
Regarding the incident Israel said that its military was responding to mortar rounds launched from near the school.
According to Gaza officials more than 100 Palestinians were killed in the attack.
Meanwhile the shelling of a market near Gaza City have killed 17, while booby traps claimed the lives of three Israeli soldiers.
At least 1,360 Palestinians are said to have killed since the current conflict began on 8 July. Most of them were civilians.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who condemned the attack as “unjustifiable”, said that all available evidences show that the Israeli artillery is behind the merciless mass killing.
