Jerusalem: Israeli warplanes attacked Syrian military positions in retaliation to the bombing on the previous day. Now the conflict between the two countries which started three years ago has become so tense.
Syria said that one of its soldiers were killed and seven others injured when the Israeli warplanes attacked three army positions near the cease-fire line between the two countries in the Golan Heights.
Israel said that their attack was in response to a bombing done by Syria along the line that injured four Israeli soldiers. Their targets were an army training facility, a military headquarters and an artillery battery located near the line of cease fire.
The current attacks have worsened the border condition between the two countries. Syrian troops and military alliances are clashing with rebels in the country who are in a set-out to unseat the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Stray shells have fallen in Israel on a number of occasions and they retaliated with artillery strikes to deter the fire, but this was the first direct encounter between the two army men across the line.
