Kerala ministry to consider tax on bus ticket


Tiruvanandhapuram: In view to recover Kerala State Road Transport Corporation from loss, the Kerala State ministry has put forth a proposal to impose tax on selling bus tickets. The matter will be taken for consideration in the next meeting of the ministry. According to the ministry sources, Re 1 will be charged as tax for tickets above Rs. 15/-, Rs. 2 as tax for tickets above Rs. 25/ and Rs. 3 as tax for tickets above Rs. 50/-
The Government sources said that they can collect Rs, 240 Crore as the tax on the sold out bus tickets.
