Washington: President Obama in one of his speeches warned American people about the dangers of the Islamic State militants and the need to destroy them with the support of US military force. Regarding this, the Pentagon has released its latest plan of action.
As per the proposed strategy, roughly 500 more US troops will be deployed to Iraq by next week.
Thus, the strength of US soldiers in Iraq will rise to more than 1,500 numbers.
Majority among them will be sending to the centers of operational command in Baghdad and Irbil, the capital of the Kurdish north.
Another 150 men will be authorized to assess the skills of Iraqi soldiers while the final 125 will help to run the armed drones bombing currently at ISIS hideouts.
Till this date, the US military has conducted about 150 air-strikes in Iraq.
While President Obama was preparing to deliver his speech outlining his strategy for dealing with Islamic State militants, the regional president of Iraqi Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, was at one of the battlefronts near Mosul.
It is said that the Kurds have slowly regained areas captured by the IS militants in a lightning strike last month and they are now ready to take part in a broader action.
