Brussels: In the Brussels meeting, NATO foreign ministers have been discussing ways to help Ukraine and reassure allies in Eastern Europe.
This is the first time meeting convened by the NATO since Russia’s annexation of Crimea causing diplomatic crisis.
Recently Russia ordered a partial withdrawal of its troops from the border with Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin told German Chancellor Angela Merkel that he had ordered for the move.
But thousands of Russian soldiers are still seen along the eastern border of Ukraine.
Tensions between Russia and the West developed after the overthrow of pro-Kremlin Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in February. Following the incident there had been street protests throughout in Ukraine.
Subsequently, Russia decided to annex Crimea which resulted a crisis in relations.
The US and EU have imposed sanctions on members of President Putin’s inner circle and other officials. Russia has retaliated with its own sanctions on US politicians.
