A new helpline for foreigners in India

New Delhi: As the aftereffect of the Danish woman gang rape in the capital city, a new helpline has been introduced for foreign nationals arriving in India. The helpline number is — 8750871111

According to sources the recent incident of alleged harassment of Ugandan women has also persuaded the police to start the helpline.

Police said that the helpline would be operated round the clock on all days and meant to register complaints by foreign nationals only.

During the past two days the Police have received 20 calls through the helpline numbers and they were to know more about the new arrangement.

Police said that the number would soon be put on the official website of the Delhi Police and social networking sites for helping the foreign nationals.
