Srinagar: After the annoyance in the Kashmir Valley, Army has announced the closure of the Pathribal case in which five Rashtriya Rifles officers were charged for killing five civilians in a bogus encounter in March 2000.
Regarding this, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah led a group of individuals belonging to the entire political field as well as the mainstream of separatists, and complained that it is an absolute denial of justice.
Omar Abdulla tweeted that he was extremely disappointed with the decision of the army on the Pathribal issue. He said that he would discuss the matter with the Law Dept & Advocate General to examine options.
According to him, a matter which is as serious as Pathribal, should not be closed, and wished to wait for the findings of the CBI which would be self evident. The chief minister said that he would present the matter in front of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
