Borneo: Camp Leakey located in central Borneo is home to a special group of orangutans who have been rescued from captivity and returned to the wild. This marvelous location is opened to visitors as well as researchers.
David Attenborough has compared the nature and behavior of orangutan with that of human beings. Since they have lived partly in human world as well as theirs, the Camp Leakey orangutans offer particularly good insight into what we all have in common.
Tanjung Puting National Park, where Camp Leakey is located, is just one of the five Indonesian jungles where travelers can get glimpses of orangutans movements in the wild.
