Islamabad: Former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf survived an attempt on his life. Currently he has been facing trial for major law breaking in the country. He was narrowly escaping from the bomb blast which took place just before his convoy passed. The bomb blast is said to have planned on Musharraf’s route from an army hospital where he has been staying since January. In this untoward incident nobody has been reported to have either dead or injured. No militant groups have claimed the responsibility of the blast. Police sources said that the blast was from a pipeline under a bridge where the bomb would have arranged for a blast. The said explosion was about twenty minutes before the arrival of the former President. After the incident a bomb disposal squad were deployed to clear the area. The Former Military Chief who ruled Pakistan from 1999 to 2008 was in self-imposed exile. When he returned home to take part in elections, the ruling government barred him and accused with numerous allegations including treason.
