New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung has pleaded for more investments in healthcare sector to enable the ‘poorest among the poor’ to access ultra modern healthcare facilities.
He was peaking at an event to commemorate 25 years of the Fortis Escorts Research Institute in the capital. Jung said that there was only one big hospital called the Irwin Hospital while he was growing up in Delhi. When years passed new hospitals having modern facilities have come up.
According to him he is a public administrator and so he is concerned about the availability of updated healthcare and medical facilities for the well-being of the poorest of the poor.”Najeeb Jung was also aware about the condition of the homeless in winters. He recalled the homeless 150 people who had lost their lives during the cold winter nights of Delhi.
He also expressed his deep concern over the sicks having nobody to take care of them.
