Sriharikota: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked ISRO scientists to develop a new satellite which can contribute ideally for the developments of our neighboring nations. At Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh Modi was speaking to the space community and pointed out the importance of developing a SAARC satellite which can be dedicated to the neighboring countries as a gift from India.
At the ISRO center he could witness the successful launch of five foreign satellites on board of ISRO’s PSLV C-23 rocket. After this unique occasion he asked the scientists to work on a satellite that would provide full range of applications and services to all of neighbors of India.
According to the Prime Minister, such a satellite would be helpful to the SAARC nations for fighting against poverty and illiteracy. He said that such a challenge would develop the space related scientific field to a greater extent and will open up avenues to provide ample opportunities to the youth of SAARC countries.
