Rome: The government of Italy said that the sea killing issue related to their marines should have been completed within the first three days after the incident. Since this is an international issue they wanted India Government to deal the matter with much importance. Stefan De Misthura, the special representative appointed by Italy for this issue said that the matter should not have been allowed to tie-up with the horribly politicized law and order systems in India.
Earlier, Italy had approached UN General assembly to get their marines released from India. But the UN assembly advised them to solve the issue amicably by bilateral dialogue.
