Thiruvanandapuram: One shunting engine at Kochuvelli railway yard which came in over speed was collided with one of the bogies of Kochuvelli – Bangalore train.

Since there were no passengers in the train no major untoward incident was occurred. Due to the force of the collision the bogie was derailed and damaged completely.

Following the accident the Kochivelli- Bangalore train which had to be started at 4 O’ clock in the evening was delayed indefinitely.

The passengers and local people who arrived there by hearing the horrible noise of the collision blamed the railway authorities who visited the location too late after the incident.
