Mexico: A strong earthquake having magnitude 6.4 to 6.6 has been reported from Mexico. This unexpected natural calamity is said to have shaken the capital city of the nation by rattling buildings and prompting offices to be evacuated.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the temblor measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale shaken 15 km north of Tecpan de Galeana area, about 277 km from Mexico City. As per the Xinhua report, the quake in the Guerrero state had a depth of 23.95 km.
The USGS had initially said the measurement of the quake as 6.8 on the Richter scale.
Meanwhile, the Mexican National Seismological Service put the quake rate at 6.6 magnitude. Fortunately, no casualty has been reported till this time.
