Abuja: More than 100 teenage girls were abducted by suspected Boko Haram militant group from northeastern Nigeria. Local sources and police said that the victims were from the Girls College in Northern Borno state’s Chibok Town. As per the Xinhua quotes, law enforcement agents have been investigating the abduction and strategies are being implemented to rescue the teenage students. The militants were fully armed and stormed the school dormitories in a raid that lasted for more than four hours. About 105 teenage girls were selected by the gunmen who abducted them at the end. According to the local sources there are altogether 250 students In this all-female college. One military officer was killed by the gunmen and injured some residents who made an attempt to prevent the abduction of girls. None of the students was reported to have killed by the armed men, but they were seriously manhandled while abducting. These militants are said to be Islamic extremists and they have been abducting girls to use as cooks and sex slaves. About two months back, more than 40 government college students were found to have dead in Buni Yadi in neighbouring Yobe state.
