Jammu: Terrorists attack in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir killed one and injured three. The militants were in army uniforms to make local people in utter confusion.
The gunmen were stopped after a two-hour long chase near an Army camp and a private college in Kalibari-Janglote belt of Kathua district. Then there occurred heavy exchange of firing between militants and security forces. An army jawan has been injured during the encounter. According to the police, three militants wearing Army uniform intercepted a sport utility vehicle at Tarnah Nallah bridge in Dayala Chak belt of Kathua district at around 0500 hours and forced the staff inside to come out. The militants opened fire on them killing one and injuring three others.
The unidentified gunmen then hijacked the vehicle and drove away with the driver. The vehicle carrying the suspected militants was stopped by the Army after two hours chase near a private college in Kalibari-Janglote belt resulting heavy exchange of firing between the two sides. In that encounter one jawan has been injured badly.
The encounter was going on when reports last came in. All the injured have been shifted to Government Medical College Hospital. The police has been ordered a high alert backed up by the security agencies. Security has been tightened at Army camps as well as at important places in Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts.
