Bangkok: Thailand celebrated their National Elephant Day on March 13th. The aim to commemorate this event is to bring awareness of elephant conservation among the natives of Thailand.
As per the latest elephant census, the population of elephants in Thailand have been found dropped to less than 5,000 countrywide.
During the event seventy-five elephants were fed with corn, watermelon, bananas, pineapples and carrots by arranging them on tables.
For this celebrations, about 10-tons of fruits and vegetables were brought into the village to arrange the marvelous feast for the elephants.
Thus the elephants in Thailand could enjoy a sumptuous buffet comprising of fruits and vegetables during the celebrations of this special day.
Elephants are considered as sacred by the people of Thailand.
