Washington: The US Secret Service have arrested two men for throwing objects at the White House, the official residence of the US president Barack Obama. Following the incident the perimeter around the mansion was locked down for an hour as a precaution.
According to the NBC television, the suspects were identified as Evan J. Graham and Vaughn Greenbrier Lerriche.
Graham threw over the north fence of the presidential mansion an object that looked like a cassette tape while Lerriche threw various papers over the south fence.
Authorities are investigating whether the two incidents are interrelated.
President Barack Obama had left Washington for an official tour to California for participating in a Democratic Party fund-raising event.
The incidents came two days after an inattentive driver followed the motorcade carrying Barack Obama’s daughter back to the White House. When he entered to the traffic prohibited zone in front of the mansion, he was stopped by the security personnel of the President and arrested by accusing unlawful entry.
