Two US climbers said to have died in Argentin

Two mountain climbers from Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are supposed to have died while climbing an Argentinean peak last week.

Jarod Von Rueden (22) of Clyman Wis and Frank Keenan (28) of Clarks Summit Pa. were climbing a 23000 foot peak called Aconcagua on the New Year’s Eve. This is the highest peak in North and South America.

On Dec 31st the US air force men told to the family of Von Rueden that the rescue operations have already started.

Daily weather updates provided by the U.S. Embassy said that strong wind, severe cold and stormy weather have made the rescue operations highly tedious.

By Sunday, the embassy told the relatives that the rescue workers have spotted the bodies of the climbers about 200 yards down in a fissure of rock and ice. They also revealed that the climbers would have died and might take several days to recover the bodies.
