UAE to bring single speedlimit in highways

United Arab Emirates: A new proposal regarding single speed limit across UAE highways has been designed by the Federal Traffic Council, in an effort to reduce the number of road accidents occurring in the country.
The federal traffic council which is in a set out to crack down the traffic dilemma in the country is under the directives of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of UAE and Dubai Traffic Police head, Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen.
According to the traffic police head, the reason behind the proposal to bring single speed limit was to curb the reckless speeding on the major highways, which is the number one killer in traffic offenses.
