Sandiago: US and Russian ‘military dolphins’ specially trained in underwater fighting may be in confrontation for the first time as tensions in Ukraine worsen further.
As per the latest reports the US have to position its dolphins in the Black Sea as part of NATO exercises during the northern hemisphere summer. dolphins are trained only in In the world, only Russia and USA possess combat dolphins which can be used for underwater fighting.
Dolphins are specially trained to trace out under water mines installing by the enemies.
After the breakup of the Soviet Union, the dolphin program was handed to the Ukrainian navy.
Russia gained control of Ukraine’s combat dolphins program when it took over Crimea.
The dolphins were initially retrained to work with disabled children and for other civilian uses. Military training was restarted in 2011.
Russia has decided to develop a new equipment to boost the operational efficiency of dolphins.
The engineers associated to oceanic studies are authorized to develop new instruments for this purpose.
