Washington(PTI): US arms supply and other military aid to Pakistan has been considerably increased during the last one year.
According to the Pentagon reports US has made military sales agreement with Pakistan worth 5.2 billion USD.
The resumption of US military aid to Pakistan can be seen as usual after the killing of Osama Bin Laden by the US forces at Abbottabad in May 2011.
The notable developments in the arms supply include delivery of 150 additional radio sets, up-gradation of 35 Pak F-16s, and delivery of 374 M113 armored personnel carriers as Excess Defense Articles in April 2014.
Sales of F-16 fighter aircraft and related equipments will come about half of the aforesaid supply.
Apart from normal supply, Pakistan has also been granted US defense supplies under the category of Excess Defense Articles (EDA).
In addition to these, Pakistan is expected to get a substantial amount of military hardware that the US troops have to leave in Afghanistan following their withdrawal by the end of this year.
Through International Military Education and Training programs, the US has funded and provided training to for more than 2,000 Pakistani military officers.
