New Delhi: The unique community of the street performers in Delhi will disappear from the heart of the city on April 1st 2014. They have been asked to vacate their residing locations for giving way to luxury flats and a mall. The residents of the locality will be shifted to a nearby transit camp for two years and finally to a new high-rise building as claimed by the government.
It is an absolute need to care these street artists of modern era for nurturing and showcasing the traditional street art. This unique art is very much dissolved in their lifestyle. According to them, the life in the multistoried building will not be suitable for this particular art. Almost everyone living in the colony of street performers are of the same opinion. Their performance as well as life style are the center of attraction of tourists visiting India. But the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) cannot stand apart from the total development of the city.
