Greece: Recently a ‘super-moon’ is said to have brighten up skies all over the world.
This phenomenon makes the moon to appear much larger and brighter than usual.
Scientists call this naturally and physically transformed moon as perigee moon.
This happens when a full moon coincides with the closest approach of the moon towards earth. Generally, this phenomenon is about 353,000 kilometers away from Earth.
At Poseidon’s temple in Greece, these views were absolutely breathtaking. Two more super moons are expected to appear within the next few months.
Most probably, the dates of the forthcoming super moon sighting will be on August 10th and September 9th respectively.
First of the three “Super moon” nights was on July 13th where the Earth’s natural satellite is said to have appeared as bigger and brighter than usual.
This was caused by the moon’s elliptical orbit of the Earth.
It is said that the previous natural disasters, such as the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, and the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, were within 1-2 weeks time-frame surrounding a super-moon.
However, no evidence has been found related with the sighting of super-moons and major earthquakes.
