Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition objecting to dress codes of girl students in schools. In the said complaint the petitioner was objecting to the skirts wearing of girl students in schools.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dhananjaya Yeshwant Deshmukh and Justice Dilip Gupta while subjugating a Public Interest Litigation said that the change, if any, to be brought is in the mindset of those who complained about such a dress code and not by changing the dress code itself.
According to the lawyer’s bench there is nothing wrong in wearing skirts by girl students in schools. Meanwhile they have expressed their displeasure about the underlying beliefs that led to the filing of such a petition. In the court order proposed on May 2nd they have mentioned that as far as the educational authorities find the dress code as appropriate, there is absolutely nothing improper in wearing skirts by the girl students in schools.
