Australia: Gold Coast residents of Australia will have improved access to local waterways following the confirmation of the 10-year long Waterways Management Strategy.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson said that the final strategy will be the largest overhaul of Gold Coast waterways in 30 years.
Several months of community consultation enabled the authorities to get the strategy finalized. As per this, the Gold Coast residents as well as the visitors can enjoy the best possible facilities available while using the famous waterways in the region.
Meanwhile, Emerson reminded Government’s promise to revitalize front line services at the Gold Coast waterways.
As per the community feedback, there are strong emphasis on improving infrastructure such as boat ramps and pontoons and continued environmental protection on and beside the waterways.
The works regarding this are to be commenced in the second half of the year.
The strategy is being delivered by the Gold Coast Waterways Authority.
