Tehran: An earthquake having magnitude 5.5 has threatened a sparsely populated area in Iran.
The quake hit area is in Goharan district which belongs to the southern sector of the country.
The population of the region is nearly 15,000 in 80 villages.
as per the reports so many buildings were damaged and the rescue operations are in full swing.
The cellular phone coverage of the region is badly affected by the natural calamity.
No casualties are reported so far by this unfortunate incident.
Iran is currently experiencing a series of seismic fault lines which exhibits one slight quake per day on average.
